Collection 01
The first YUAN Collection, based on the research series of DU QINFEN.
YUAN Collection 01 grows out of several of DU QINFEN’s long-term research series: Shell, Micro, Non-Object / Ru Object, and Following Sequence.
It does not reproduce existing artworks. Working from the artist’s research system, the Collection draws out the formal language, material qualities, structural relationships and spatial expression held inside the work, then carries that language into objects for contemporary living through design research and product development.
Collection 01 continues to develop around vases, incense holders, candleholders, cups and small sculptures: artistic research entering daily life, answering what contemporary living asks of an object in use, scale, touch and feeling, without losing the spirit of the original works.
